The FC with the old non stock bumper cut off.

I am using this piece of 5" SCH40 pipe for the bumper. It is also going to be an air storage tank when i figure out how to get an air compressor mounted to the engine.

I am putting this crane on the bumper.

I am going to use this E350 spindle as the base of the crane. The rotating base that came with it is junk.

Mockup of the tube.

Cut Brackets.

Brackets welded to the tube.

Mounted to the truck

We haven't finished the bumper as of Oct 16 05. We needed to take a trip to idaho and haven't got around to finishing the project yet. We still need to make the mount for the crane and finnish the bumper itself. We also need to figure out a good way to mount a receiver hitch to both the back and the front bumpers.
I will post pics when we work on it some more.

We temporarily mounted the crane to my truck. We need to find some parts for the E350 spindle before we can use it and i needed the boom so we mounted it with the base that came with it. It is so hard to turn that it will motivate me to get the parts for the good spindle.
We have also put a reciever hitch on the back bumper.
Still havent mounted one on the front.

We reengineered the bumper crane mount 3 days after we installed it. I moved 2 CJ5 axles with it and the mount wouldnt turn with that much weight on it (one axle at a time) i had to use the little winch in the bed to pull the axles around so i could set them down in the bed. I decided to buy a new bearing for my E350 Spindle and put the crane on it so it would have bearings.

You can just see the bottom of the E350 spindle in this pic. I picked up a full width 3/4 ton ford dana 44 front axle with this setup and it turns very easy. a major improvment over that POS pivot that came with the crane.I have used the crane a dozen times or more since we fixed the pivot and i dont know how i lived without it before. Makes loading stuff on my truck easy.
